How to Make Vampire Costumes
Halloween is a perfect occasion for wearing costumes. In this time of year, you will see ghosts and monsters walking around, book and movie characters knocking on your door, and pirates and fairies shouting “Trick or Treat!”
One of the most popular costumes in Halloween is a vampire costume. Vampire costumes are great for both males and females because they are romantic, mysterious, dramatic, and classic. A lot of books have been published and a lot of movies have been produced with vampires as their main characters.
So if you want to join the bandwagon and scare people off with this type of costume, here are some steps for making vampire costumes.
The first thing that you should consider is the costume itself. As you know, vampires wear formal and elegant clothes such as suits for men and classic evening gowns for women. For men, you can wear a black shirt buttoned up to the neck to achieve that look.
Wear a black suit over it. For females, any formal gown with laces, brocades, or anything elegant and classic is okay. Do not forget the cape. A cape is very important. You can buy capes from costume shops, online or thrift stores.
Makeup is also important in creating a great costume. Use powder or foundation on your face. Make sure that it is deathly white. Use blood red or black lipstick. Apply dark eyeliner around your eyes and red eyeliner on your eye lids. For boys, use hair mousse to brush up your hair. And for females, just let your long hair loose.
Finally, wear your plastic fangs to complete the whole vampire look.
Have you checked out all the vampire shows lately? True Blood, Vampire Diaries, etc? Vampires are one of the coolest Halloween costumes! The costumes you suggest are awesome! Great detail, scary and easy on the wallet. Thanks!
